I started in oil and gas as a project manager many years ago. Took voluntary redundancy, went travelling, and somewhere between Cali and Cagliari I saw people working from laptops on beaches and thought: I could do that. Did a UX/UI bootcamp when I returned, got my first design job in Newcastle, and loved it from day one.
The line between design and code disappeared a few years ago. Now I design and build. The two aren't separate anymore, and honestly the work's never been more fun. I love helping people turn ideas into something real. That's the bit that gets me out of bed.
Based in the Scottish Highlands with my wife and our 3-year-old daughter, who is absolutely the best thing I've ever made. Morning runs through the hills with a weird album or podcast. A documentary or a film in the evening and family time at the weekends. Life's good.
